It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to Derwent Primary School; where we believe that every child deserves the very best start in life and an education that enables them to succeed, not just academically, but emotionally and socially too.
I feel extremely lucky to be a part of such an amazing, dedicated and enthusiastic team where everyone has a positive contribution towards developing the whole child.
Derwent is a busy, friendly school that can offer your child a wide range of opportunities. We encourage our children to be supportive of each other and to form good relationships. We want them to value themselves and others, including people with different ideas or beliefs. Our curriculum is designed so that they leave us with all the knowledge and skills they need in order to become citizens of the future. We aim to promote a love of learning that will remain with them through life while nurturing their interests and curiosity.
Our website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils. It goes without saying that no website can ever be a replacement for actually visiting a school and meeting the children and staff, so please do make an appointment if you would like to see us in action.
