ONE Approach

Each school operates differently and in different circumstances. Our approach is dictated by what is ‘right for the school’, not via a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

We describe our approach as a partnership. We need to be consistent and fluid in our approach to support our schools. We’re in this together as we share the same common goals – for our children, staff, schools and communities to achieve. This is an exciting journey, however, we know that this can be both complex and challenging as well.

We place a high value on celebrating the identity and uniqueness of our schools, supported by a strong collaborative Trust community. We will engage you in:

  • Subject and Practise networks, including Special Educational Needs
  • School Improvement Support and Quality Assurance led Michelle Thompson, Director for Quality of Education
  • Constantly updated CPD content (online and face-to-face)
  • Regular briefing bulletins
  • Termly Head’s Forums
  • Safeguarding Forums led by Jeannie Haigh Vice CEO
  • Annual Trust Conference
  • Leadership Conference
  • Governance support led by Di Dakin Governance Co-ordinator

You will also have access to dedicated experts and services linked to:

  • Finance
  • Business Operations
  • Procurement
  • Human Resources
  • Estates
  • Information Technology
  • Policy Design and Implementation
  • Legal
  • Data Protection

We allow our schools to breathe and provide appropriate wrap-around support to help them achieve their priorities.

Central to One Academy Trust's approach is a clear vision which is 'lived and breathed' across all of the schools within the MAT. Trust leaders foster a culture of continuous improvement where safeguarding and the quality of education are prioritised to meet the individual needs/context of our settings. The Trust commits to developing a skilled workforce and strive to ensure that all staff feel valued and invested in, creating an ethos where 'Everyone Matters'.
